YP training is required before an adult can become a registered volunteer.


Leaders need to fill out a tour permit permit before doing ANY activity off the grounds of St. John’s UCC. Tour permits can now be filled out online in your My Scouting account.


2010 signifies a new direction for Cub Scouting. The program has beome stronger by the development of a new delivery system. Leaders are better supported and thus Scouts are happier! Check out the info here. This website also contains all the lesson plans for your den meetings.


BASIC SCOUT LEADERSHIP TRAINING requires four online courses:

Youth Protection is a course designed to protect you and the scout. Any youth program requires this training. This course is required to be taken every 2 years.

This Is Scouting is an orientation program for new volunteers.

Cub Scout Leader Fast Start gives a brief overview of what your new volunteer position entails.

Cub Scout Leader Specifics goes into detail of what your specific position entails. There is specific training for Tiger Den Leader, Wolf Den Leader, Bear Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Cubmaster, and Pack Committee. This course should be completed for each specific leadership role accepted.

Complete these four Scout Leadership Training courses and you are considered trained! Wear the patch proudly!

Supplemental training is required for certain events. Hazardous Weather Safety Training (available online) is required for Tour Permit applications. BALOO is required for Pack overnight events. Boating and swimming require safety awareness training that is available online.
