Webelos Camp with Boy Scout Troop

Camping

The boy scouts will be camping at their site located at the St. John’s camp near Cowan’s Gap. Traditionally they have only invited the Webelos II den but this year they have opened it up to the Webelos I den. This helps strengthen our Webelos program and allows the boys to see what’s coming ahead in Boy Scouts.

This will be a tent camping event. If you don’t have a tent, let us know and we will make other arrangements. And, as is dictated by cub scout regulations, an adult needs to accompany the scout. There is bathroom and shower facilities available at the Church camp. Meals will be provided – $7.00 per person attending.

There are several requirements that require Webelos Scouts to be a part of an outdoor activity and/or overnighter with your family, the den, and/or with the boy scout troop. This is a big step in starting to fulfill those requirements for the Arrow of Light. Besides that, taking part in these activities helps ease the transition into the boy scout level – especially for the Webelos II den who will be crossing over in only 5 months!

If you are interested in attending, please contact Cubmaster Mike by Monday afternoon, the 22nd. We need to know the following:

  • How many attending?
  • Attending both nights or just one? (We recommend that if you are only attending one night that it be Saturday night – please arrive early Saturday morning so that you don’t miss any of Saturday’s activities.)
  • Do you have a tent?
